Mailing List and Newsletters and Spam Law Compliance
MSM Marking is in full compliance with all e-mail collection procedures and anti-spam laws. We do not send "spam." Many people are unfamiliar with state and federal e-mail regulations and just assume anything they did not sign up for is spam. [See spam laws here.]
Anti-spam laws address deceptive advertising, and our e-mail campaigns, newsletters, and special offers are not deceptive. They very clearly state our intention, our business, our domain name and e-mail address(es), as well as our physical address and a legally required removal ("opt-out") mechanism. We also often include a toll-free 800 number, which is over and above what the laws require.
We understand e-mails are a very sensitive issue. The only way not to receiveany e-mails is never use your e-mail address on the internet. This is very impractical, and most people end up sharing, publicly, their e-mail address and subsequently begin receiving unexpected emails.
We collect e-mails from public internet sources such as industry-related websites and smartpages / yellowpages. We do not generate emails or "guess" emails (eg: assuming all websites have a 'webmaster@' or 'help@' email). As per CAN-SPAM, "generating" emails is not legal.
We keep a copy of the 2003 Anti-Spam Laws right here on our server: CAN-SPAM
Act of 2003. It outlines the differences between legitimate business correspondence and spam.
Again, we at MSM realize that e-mail is a sensitive and personal issue to many people, and we do our best to keep you off of our mailing list as per your request.
We automatically process remove requests by maintaining an "opt-out" and/or "remove" list. By maintaining "remove" and "opt-out" addresses, you cannot be contacted even if your name is re-added to the list at a future date. However, make sure that you are sending the "opt-out" e-mail from the account which is actually receiving our newsletters and flyers. For security purposes, you cannot opt-out someone else's email, and therefore must send the "opt-out" or "remove" from the e-mail address to which we are sending the correspondence. If you are unable to do this -- due to forwarding or some other configuration issue -- contact us using some other method by clicking here to visit our contact page.
